INTERREGIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY WORKSHOP 09/11/2015 TILL 11/11/2015
In the last five years, licensing authorities, airlines, air navigation service providers
and language testing and training providers have done extensive work to pursue the implementation
of the safety-critical language provisions as mandated by Assembly Resolution A32-16 in 1998 and
embodied in Annexes 1, 6, 10 and 11, as well as Doc 4444 — PANS-ATM. However, it is
recognized that implementation of the LPRs is challenging and several States continue to indicate
that they are not compliant with the language provisions. To assist States from the Asia-Pacific,
European/North-Atlantic and Middle East Regions in implementing the language provisions, an
English Language Proficiency Workshop will be organized jointly by the APAC,
EUR/NAT and MID Regional Offices in Kuwait from 9 to 11 November 2015. The Workshop will
be graciously hosted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Kuwait.
